About Ann

Find out everything about Ann, in her own words, below.

Who Is Ann Anderson?

I’m your neighbor.

I’ve called Frisco home for 20 years. I’ve been married to my husband, Thor, for 38 years—he’s a U.S. Army Veteran and teaches in Frisco ISD. We raised two children here, both proud Frisco ISD graduates who continued their education at Texas Tech and Collin College. And like many Frisco families, our family includes two dogs, Sophie and Tulla, who keep life fun and active.

I’m your neighbor who believes in community involvement.

When our kids were young, I served on the Gunstream Elementary PTA as Parliamentarian and then President for two terms. As they grew, we supported Wester Middle School PTO, Centennial Theatre, and the Frisco High Best Buddies program. Supporting our schools taught me the value of parent participation and strong community partnerships.

I’m your neighbor with real-world business experience.

For more than 25 years, I worked in the financial services industry—traveling the western United States as a training and compliance officer and helping launch a start-up national title company. I’ve experienced both the challenges of a company layoff and the reward of rebuilding a team. In 2013, I took that knowledge and opened my own small business, gaining first-hand perspective on what it takes to run and sustain a local enterprise.

I’m your neighbor who believes in service to others.

I’ve been fortunate to give back through organizations that strengthen Frisco—reading scholarship applications for the Frisco Education Foundation, interviewing applicants for the American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State program, and volunteering with Frisco Women’s League. Growing up in a military family instilled in me a lifelong commitment to community and service.

I’m your neighbor helping shape Frisco’s future.

I’ve been honored to serve on the City of Frisco’s Art and Culture Advisory Board, working to expand the city’s art collection and cultural programming. I also served on the Comprehensive Planning Committee, collaborating with residents and city staff to help guide Frisco’s growth and development for the next 15 years. These experiences deepened my understanding of how planning today shapes the Frisco we’ll share tomorrow.

I’m your neighbor who values connection and leadership.

I’ve participated in programs such as Leadership Frisco and Citizens Fire Academy and have served with community organizations including Frisco Fastpacs, Sunrise Rotary, and Frisco Women’s League. I believe, as the Jaycee Creed says, that “service to humanity is the best work of life”—and that’s how I strive to live every day.

I’m your neighbor—ready to serve.

I’m running for City Council to continue giving back to the city that has given my family so much. I believe in thoughtful growth, responsible planning, and keeping Frisco a place we’re all proud to call home.

My Record of Service

Service to others has always been at the heart of what I do. I’ve been honored to contribute to our city through leadership roles, volunteerism, and community partnerships that reflect the spirit of Frisco.
